writes: Hey guys. I could use a bit of advice. I had my first Brazilian wax yesterday... it was okay, if painful. When I got home and looked underneath I saw some skin had been pulled off with one of the wax strips, leaving a cut about a centimetre long. It isn't too deep - not bleeding or anything - but I'm a bit upset about it, and worried. It's in the crease between my labia and leg skin, so the edges keep getting pulled apart. I cleaned it with an antiseptic wipe yesterday and today and have just put some Vaseline on it, but is that enough? Should I go to the doctor? I doubt it needs stitches or anything but I'm not sure I'm using the right products, or would benefit from having a gauze strip put on it. Anyone with experience of this, please help! Apart from this I'm happy with how the wax turned out. Thanks a lot :) Reply to this Question Share |

The previous posts especially honeypie are all fab .. as a mental health nurse I would suggest cleansing it with a saline solution of salt and water well mixed and then apply the cream .. The solution will sting just a little but will make sure it won't get infected .. septicaemia is often started through small cuts .. so just keep yourself right .. If it feel tender at anytime the straight to the doctor you go . Take care sweetie.

That sounds very painful. I have no experience of this but the tea tree oil as the previous poster has suggested, would help and plenty of vaseline. Dont put any soap near the area, clean it with cotton wool soaked in cool boiled water if necessary. The previous posters idea of cream is good too, I would try the natural items first but if it gets sore or infected definitely try the cream.

I'd get a tube of Neosporin Antibiotic Ointment and apply it twice a day. Or you can go the more organic way and get some Tea Tree Oil Cream. ( the latter soothes the itch from the cut very nicely.)
I always carry a tube of Neosporin (one in the car, one in my purse - as they come in handy little tubes) and I use the Tea Tree Oil Cream at home.
I would also suggest you TELL them on next visit (where ever you got waxed) what happened last time.
I have gotten a bruise or two from getting waxed, but never a cut.
