writes: My ex and I had a particularly torrid relationship. I met her just after she got divorced and through the time you could see the hurt it was causing her, which led to many arguments. Eventually she said she needed to move on. She has now, as she puts it, 'discovered what she is all about' but is with someone else. I went through hell for those 4 years trying to be there for her, always waiting to find the person who I met before the hurt started. How can I win her back now she is free of the hurt? I love her dearly and want her back. I want a part of what I never got to see before.

It is a shame but unfortunately I think you were just a stepping stone and you must feel good, however not fully appreciated, that you helped get her there.Wish her well if you love her, and do not persue her. She may come to resent you interfering with her new life... you don't want to be remebered as being that sort of person. You have done well to help her, now leave her to her own new life. And you set upon having one too!
