She always said we could never afford it even though she had no problem paying to go to the pain clinic twice a week. Anyway. . . . . I am getting a pelvic as well as a full set of STD tests, along with all of the other typical procedures. Here's why:~mother was/is a prostitute. Worried about STDs being passed during birth.~father molested me. Worried about STDs from him.~stepfather molested me. Worried about STDs from him.~what seems like odd, very thick discharge (though not itchy or really smelly) that pops up every so often.~I can feel small bumps on my cervix that haven't gone away in several years. ~Since I was in 5th grade, I cannot pee without an INCREDIBLE burning sensation that lasts for hours afterward. It's horrible, and for a week back in 2005, I literally couldn't even get out of bed hardly and cried non-stop because the pain was so bad. ~I have a weird pocket that I can stick the tip of a finger into in the back wall of my vaginal canal. Wondering what it is and if it's normal.~lump (I assume it's not normal and that I'm not confusing it with normal tissue) next to my urethra.~History of ovarian cancer and non-cancerous ovarian cysts in my family. Sometimes I feel as though I have a baseball lodged just above my hipbone that hurts a lot, and I'm worried that's what it could be.--My mom already said she would step out for all of the exams. What I want to know is, during the discussion before or afterward, will I have to discuss these concerns ^ with my mother present? Will my concerns be asked on any of the medical forms that I or my mom will fill out? I don't care about my mom finding out what my problems are once everything is said and done. I just don't want to have to discuss what I am worried about with her! The reasons that I gave her were because I never saw the results after I was 1st tested for STDs during a rape kit when I was 5 and because of the burning/peeing issue. I don't want to address points 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9 with her in any way at all. So, will my nurse keep these concerns confidential (I'm 17 and in Wisconsin) and will I have to bring all of them up at any time outside of the exams? Thanks!

I totally agree with Saturndesire. I would always take my patients confidentiality into consideration and if a chaperone was needed I would ask another health care professional to help out.
Good Luck x
