writes:Ok, so i am 19 but i have never had a girlfriend, and its to the point that i have never properly kissed a girl.I have friends that are girls, and i am told i am a nice person. I play sport, do music, lots of different things, but i havnt met any girls that either are interested in me or that i am interested in.Also, i mean im not wanting to seem desparate, but i would like to have one.I know im slightly shy, but once people get to know me, that never seems to be a problem, the problem is getting to know people in the first place!If anyone has got any advice on how to get a girlfriend i would greatly appreciate it.Thanks in advance :)

reader, anonymous, writes (10 November 2009): Agreeing with the previous reply, confidence is key. And if girls don't seem interesting, ask yourself where you're looking or what you're looking for. It obviously wont happen over night, but all the hobbies and interests you mentioned, try finding girls with similar interests. You do music for example, is there a way of meeting girls through events regarding music? That way you can at least practice confidence at these events, you know you can bring up the music as an ice breaker, even try going for the soul purpose of getting in some practice talking to girls. That never hurts! Rejection should be viewed positively in this case, its better to try then miss out by not trying at all!
