writes: I'm 15-16 year old girl and I have a crush on somebody that doesn't even know I exist, not only he probably has a girlfriend, he's older by at least 4 years than me, I'm not a looker to make somebody that much older than me to even stare at me and he's Jewish and I'm Arab so that doesn't go well around here does it? [Israel], Some of my best friends tell me to start hanging around him, maybe you'll become friends and then the age gap wont be so big, some keep saying "stop dreaming" and "move on", but it's hard because I don't just like any boy, and the "type" I like is so rare around here that when I see a boy my type I have a crush like this so should I move on or hope for the best?

reader, anonymous, writes (23 August 2007): Hey honey, I know how you feel. I have recently been there, had a crush on someone who I have talked to for like a minute! I don't think he knows I exist either. And I'm totally the same in 'the type i like is so rare.' I think that if you want something to happen between you two, you need to start talking to him and making him know that you're there. Or if that isn't possible, then move on and forget about him, there are plenty of other guys out there. If you want something to happen then you gotta make it happen. Other than that, you'll get over him in the end. Good luck x
