Rants On Whatever

, posted over a year ago

Good morning everyone!

Another rant from your's truly. Sometimes, I stumble on things on the news, or on someone's web site, and stuff and even it's something little, or minor, it really urks me to no end. It gives me the motivation to throw cold coffee in someone's face for doing things that are so obviously wrong. I mean for one thing, sentencing a spammer to 101 years in prison, where as sentencing a murderer to 5 years in prison friggin dumbfounds me as to what the judicial system is based out of.

It's legal to sell guns on EBay, but illegal to sell modded digital equipment. It's legal to take massive taxes from their citizens, but it's illegal for banks to take money from online casinos. It's legal to invade a country and bomb it like there is no tomorrow, but it's illegal to kill one person on your own soil.

I understand that spammers are bastards and bitches no doubt, but to put them in 101 years in prison is really out of this world. WHAT ULTIMATE WRONG have they committed by mass spamming the world with their "Viagra" and "Grow Your Penis To 6 Feet" and "I'm a daughter of former dictator who wants you to help me get money from blah" ads? It's understandable that they should be shunned and punted, but to put them in jail, that takes away their basic fundamentals for freedom for their entire life time and even longer, is just retarded!

I think the judicial system is f**ked up! It IS SOOOOOOOO out of date, based on conservative ideals WAY LONG PASSED! For a spammer, I say 1 year for the first offence, 3 for the 2nd, 5 for the third, and 10 for the next - 10 max thereafter, AND civil service and limited freedom - can only use computer during work, etc. You know? The government and law makers have to start thinking more creatively, instead of sending people to jail in the illusion that shoving them in there will solve the issues outside! CUZ it won't!

This same goes to murderers, burglarers, sexual offenders, etc, etc, etc. Creative customized sentences should be dished out rather than put them all under one heading. It's just not right! Those in power are just simply not right. We need philosophers in the government as much as we need a balance of right-minded, traditionalists. We need people who would gladly put the citizens first before their own pockets - people in government should know that what they earn is relative to what their country earns, and not what they believe they should deserve based on the international salary average. People in government should mimic like those of ancient kingdoms. If the people need extra funds for health, for education, for this and that, the government SHOULD be getting cuts off their salary to HELP the people and not the other way around.

It disgusts me when politicians try to vote for higher wages, more benefits, and longer holidays. They are our country's administrators, those whom act like care takers of our needs. They aren't supposed to take advantage of their position to give themselves more benefits. They are supposed to work towards our benefits. If a politician gets paid 200 thousand pounds/USD/Cdn a year, the country better be thriving, potent, and lush with NO clear classes between people. If politicians make 10 thousand pounds/USD/Cdn a year, then that is reflective of what they are doing for our country. What they do should be reflective of what they country as a whole is like.

Gross! I'm glad that 150000 rally in DC happened where Stina mentioned. Personally, I never supported Greenpeace rallies or the like, but if rallies of that level happens for a cause that has not been justified such as invading Iraq based on twisted hunches, and unseating a dictator based on those things, where as Bush is the dictator of the world, man exactly... Lost my train of thought... 8D

ANYWAY... That's all... BTW, I wasn't just thinking about Bush all this time. I was thinking about Paul Martin, Stephen Harper, Chirac, and pretty much all of the world powers in question.

Martini, It totally agree with everything you just ranted on about. The justice system is a joke. Here in England, because the prisons are full, they are letting poadophiles,(scuse spelling error)go, can you believe that? Yes, you probably can. Yet they can find room to jail and old age pensioner for not paying council tax. Speaking of old age pensioners, the council here in Cornwall have decided that too much money is being spent on the care of old folk and so now they are appealing for people to volunteer to be carers. I work in care and let me tell you, not ENOUGH money is being put into care. Its frankly disgraceful that old people sometimes have to sell their homes to pay for care and the old folk that come into our day care centre have to pay to have a bath. Most cant bath themselves at home and some have no family so if they didnt pay for a bath then they wouldnt get one. One old lady pays twenty pounds a week to have two baths a week in another area of Cornwall. Its shocking and the government needs to address this issue of providing decent care for pensioners instead of concentrating on this crazy war in Iraq!! Golly, I feel better now. Ranting is really good for you Martini isnt it?;)

My pet hate, actually one of my pet hates...is that people come to the UK form other countries have babies or recieve free treatment on the NHS then bugger off back to there own countries without paying a sodding thing. Leaving it to the British taxpayer to pick up the tab...talk about freeloading!! Oh and there are many things i could rant about, but I will do one at a time because I have a headache already...

I'm going to rant about the amount of popups I get everytime I open a webpage. It is so annoying! Even though I block them they still come up and even when I'm not online I still get them, they must've secretly put advertising on my computer.

No I'm not interested in solving my debt problems,I don't want a free x-box or laptop that I'm never going to win, I don't want your hourly prize, I don't want an adult chat with anyone,no I don't want a free screensaver, No I don't want a loan, I don't want to downlaoad any ringtones, No partypoker I don't want to gamble online, No i'm not interested in your useless pointless new product! Just leave me alone and let me surf the internet in peace!

Yes they should be locked up in prison for all the pain, anguish and heartache they cause me!

Every second I spend closing these pop ups is a second of my life wasted! And every sigh of annoyance is a breath of air wasted. And every extra movement of my arm to move the mouse to the red box at the corner of the screen is a waste of my energy. Every face muscle I pull to frown at these pop ups is more of my energy wasted. Everytime I get annoyed at the amount of pop ups I get I become distressed beyond words.

Conclusion: pop ups are ruining my life and those responsible should be locked up in prison forever!

*slight exaggeration. lol But pop ups are annoying. Just thought I'd get it off my chest. I'm done.

Vina you have spyware download an anti-spyware package (there's one in http://pack.google.com) and your popups should be nuked.

... and never download anything from the internet! e.g. smiley packages, toolbars etc. unless it's from a super-trusted source

I get this sometimes, a message saying that a new toolbar is waiting to be downloaded. I ignore anything like that. We had a virus invade the computer just after we bought it. It was a nightmare to get rid of and I think it came from a porn site that my other half foolishly downloaded. He's learnt a big lesson for sure!! We've got protection now but I heard that there's a new virus out there that can get through the protection and will completely crashy your computer and ruin your hard drive. Apparently its being sent out in emails. One of the subjects is, see bin laden hang, so I was told so keep an eye out for anything like that. My spam filter is not doing a very good job at the moment. Im getting quite a lot of spam and Im deleting so much at the moment. So annoying.

Vina - also get yourself an anti-virus.

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

(they also do anti-spyware stuff)

Spyware can actually also be used to record your banking details etc. so you should be scared! It's fixable though.

For the rant, I hate the combination of rain and wind in winter time! I TOTALLY AND UTTERLY despise it! WHY?!?!?! Vancouver is notorious for rain. RAIN! We are the rain capital of the northern hemisphere! We get snow for one week at a time, then rain for 4. FOR FOUR! Then snow for a week, then more rain! MORE RAIN!

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I would also like to advertise FireFox...

If you're sick of mysterious pop-ups and super slow incompatible internet browsing, choose FireFox! OR, you can be like the dozens of Pro-Martini and use Mozilla Suite!

FireFox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

OR

Mozille Suite: http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/

Righto.

Oh last rant... Internet Explorer SUCKS!

End rant.

I went to Vancouver when I was ten in 1981, is there a place there called Cypress Bowl...or was I dreaming that?

Yes, Cypress Bowl is the company that operates and manages Cypress Mountain. Though it's a good place for ski/snowboarding, visitors may want to go to Whistler Blackcombe for better challenges, or if they truly like flat downhill, Seymour Mountain is for that. Mhm.
