Here's another version of it - straight off the 1492 CD by the sound of it.

If you haven't seen the film I can thoroughly recommend it. It's all about Christopher Columbus discovering the New World, and the struggle he had getting the ships, the finance, and the permission of Queen Isabella and her Court to undertake the voyage. Gripping stuff.

fade - I rather like 'Beach Theme', having looked at a few videos of their stuff on youtube, but I'm not sure if it's the music or the video images that do it for me the most.

If you could be more specific, I could be more definite!

Like most groups / artistes they do some nice stuff and a lot more not-so-nice stuff - the kind of stuff that backs up the good stuff on albums if you get what I mean.

This is my favourite Bowie track. It was running through my head all the time when I got together with Lynne at the age of 51! I know - big softy. It was a sort of 'our song' at the time. Brings back happy memories though!

Beautiful!

If we're going to go classical this is one of my favourites by Bedrich Smetana. The theme of the music is of a spring turning into a stream which then flows into a river and follows its journey down to the sea. On the way down it passes a wedding party by the side of the river. This is a shortened version - the original lasts for over 12 minutes.

One of my favs that still can touch my heart and cause my eyes to well with raw emotion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iulxQnSsI8

Elton John The Greatest Discovery Lyrics:

Peering out of tiny eyes

The grubby hands that gripped the rail

Wiped the window clean of frost

As the morning air laid on the latch

A whistle awakened someone there

Next door to the nursery just down the hall

A strange new sound you never heard before

A strange new sound that makes boys explore

Tread neat so small those little feet

Amid the morning his small heart beats

So much excitement yesterday

That must be rewarded must be displayed

Large hands lift him through the air

Excited eyes contain him there

The eyes of those he loves and knows

But what's this extra bed just here

His puzzled head tipped to one side

Amazement swims in those bright green eyes

Glancing down upon this thing

That make strange sounds, strange sounds that sing

In those silent happy seconds

That surround the sound of this event

A parent smile is made in moments

They have made for you a friend

And all you ever learned from them

Until you grew much older

Did not compare with when they said

This is your brand new brother

This is your brand new brother

This is your brand new brother

Lyrics: The Greatest Discovery, Elton John [end]

I assume you're having a boy then?

it's funny how pregnancy makes women come over all emotional!

I hope you have a trouble-free confinement and a healthy little baby. Then you can join Bugs saying things like 'Agoo, agoogoo!'

Only 6 weeks to go eh? You must have had enough of it all by now. Best wishes for the future anyway!

Like it's wrong to be moved spiritually and emotionally from beauty. *grins* You definitely Old School Unca. ;)

Even before I was preggers this song had this effect. That and Mary Did You Know? I like the song. Period.

I guess because I see my daughters are best of friends and my sons are best of friends and they all love one another and think of one another most of the time, that I'm just appreciative of such songs.

I'm not sure what I'm having, will know next week and Bugs will be one of the first to know. Her well wishes have always warmed me and I'm thankful for that; she's an Angel.

Not six weeks, I said when it comes to 6 weeks I have to lay off the curry-blood thinner. I adore my curry dishes. So I'm looking forward to making that one. Mmmmmmm. GEWD!

About baby speak. My eldest daughter used to get a funny look on her face when someone tried to talk to her like that. She'd look at me and with a puzzled look on her face and I'd just laugh. She eventually started to laugh when people did that, even when she was 18 months.

She said her first word at 9 months. She pointed up to a light fixture and said light. Freaked her Dad right out. She was walking around that age as well.

She's a math genius.

One of my favorite Jim Carrey quotes comes from Series of Unfortunate Events...

When the baby speaks to him and he responds

" I don't speak monkey and says Ba-na-na." :P

*laughs* Gee, I wonder why? :P

My eldest was Jungle Baby and my youngest Daughter was Demon Baby.

Jungle Baby because she had these curls and her hair was like Shirley Temple and as soon as we'd get home off would come her clothes and socks. She'd jump all over the furniture. She reminded me of Mowgli from Jungle Book.

Demon Baby because she had this deep voice when she talked and people would be weirded out by such a cute, chubby, angle faced baby having a deeper than expected voice. It changed later when she was about 4. She said she worried about speaking so she'd just focus on trying to say words and that's why her voice was deep. Not to mention she tormented her older sister and me with her constant pranks. She's been go go go every since.:P

Little girls are so much fun.

The story of me being named the little devil goes like this.

I found a lovely fat kitten (and I named him Motu) on our village road.He seemed abandoned.I brought him home.

My mom saw red with me bringing all sorts of strays into the house.Motu was shown the door.I cried,I refused to eat.Nothing seemed to work.

I became calm.I was 10 years old at that time.I found Motu again. He was playing near the dustbin.Every animal recognizes kindness. He ran towards me.I hid him in the guest bathroom for many days.I was scared of being caught. So I climbed the guava tree in the back of our garden one day.It led to the top of the guest bathroom. The guest bathroom is quite far away from the main house in villages.I hid there from morning till evening. My mom kept yelling my name.I heard it.I had got some milk for Motu who was happy chasing the birds from the guava tree.

My mom knew I was hiding. She knew it had to do with Motu. But she got scared when it became evening.I could notice it by the increase in decibels of her voice.

I slowly climbed down with Motu in my hands.I went and I faced her.I thought I was going to receive the spanking of my life.To my utter disbelief, she hugged me and cried. She said "My Little Devil".Motu stayed...

The first, Pink's song titled Family portrait. She wrote it when her parents were divorcing, age 11.

A raw, powerful cry from the soul of a child. No stronger a voice than that of a child and it's heart's desire.
