Its hard to tell with so few details, what kind of pain is it? If its a dry burning pain then you may need more foreplay and some artificial lubricant. Also if youre not aroused enough he can hit your cervix with his penis. It could also be that youre still being stretched. However it might be an idea to see a doctor, I had a persistent burning pain During sex and my nurse prescribed me an ointment. So try getting more aroused and using artificial lube and if that still doesnt work, see a doctor or nurse :-)

You probably felt pain because you were not fully aroused and lubricated...
your partner must make sure he stimulates you enough prior to intercourse so that you are wet enough to receive him without pain.
also some good quality lubricant would help (like KY or Astroglide or WET) and he can also use pre-lubricated condoms (he should be wearing condoms)
