Do condoms affect man's performance?

Question - (5 January 2009) 4 Answers - (Newest, 5 January 2009)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

When my boyfriend and I are having sex, he will cum within a few minutes and I am usually left wanting more, whereas he is tired. I'm not sure if his age affects it, but he is 19.

Sometimes he wants to try to cum again, after already cumming, but he usually can't if he is wearing a condom afterward. He says it makes him numb and after awhile he can't feel himself inside of me anymore. And when he takes off the condom, he can't feel his penis because it is still numb. Is this normal? Do condoms affect a guys' hardness or whether they can cum or not? Or do most guys have a hard time cumming twice in a row?

I was wondering if you know of anything that would help him cum be able to cum twice in a row or at least go stay inside of me for longer than a few minutes before he cums? Sometimes he says condoms are too tight. Are there different sizes we can buy?

Any advice would help, thanks!

DoubleM agony auntOf course condoms affect sexual sensitivity for a man, which is why most of us hate using them. These things do provide some significant protection against sexually transmitted diseases, and usually help prevent pregnancy - if either are an issue. But yes, a man definitely experiences much less stimulation when using a condom. That does not seem to be your boyfriend's primary problem, however, which is apparently something called premature ejaculation.

Consequently, you probably experience little if any sexual satisfaction due to his quick finish, which is likely your reason for posting. My suggestion would be much more foreplay than you have probably been receiving lately, such as kissing, petting, fondling and maybe a bunch of genital licking and kissing. Enter the word "cunnilingus' in the above search field for additional information. If more time is spent raising your anticipation and preparing you for copulation, you will be much more likely to enjoy it. Most women require more attention than they usually receive prior to intercourse, and apparently, most men are either clueless or unwilling to provide enough stimulation to help their woman orgasm.

A male reader, chrissa United Kingdom +, writes (5 January 2009):

the problem you are experiencing is quite common. Condoms do make a difference in the sense that for a man the sensation is not as good but you make up for that mentally because you know you are safe to cum. However after you have cum the first time as a male even without a condom it is hard work to not feel tired and feel ready for it again, you can make yourself which is what it sounds like your boyfriend is doing however with a condom on like i said its not as good and where you would normally make up mentally you cant either because his body is tired physically and mentally. There for the penis is limp and combining the movement of the penis with the semen is what is causing him the problem however if he kept his erection it is less likely this problem would occur. There is a solution for this it lies in viagra. Viagra is not what people think for old men who cant get hard ons well it is but what viagra does is increases the blood supply to the penis there for as long as you think about sex you will have an erection. People go on that viagra makes you have an instant erection and lasts constant for twelve hours, thats niths ive used viagra you take it an hour before intercourse then when you think about sex it springs to attention. When he has ejaculated instead of his penis going immediately limp it keeps an erection out of his control. The erction will go down in a short space of time if you let it although you want to carry on intercourse this will allow you to do that. Using viagra he will get the biggest hardest erection that he has ever had, and there are side affects ie headaches and they are ruled out for sufferers of heart problems. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
