writes: dear cupid,so, there's this guy that i met through mutual friends, and those mutual friends seem to think that the two of us would be absolutely perfect together. he works at a restaurant near the college that we both go to, and i just recently found out that that restaurant is hiring. it seems like it would be a really great job--they're very flexible as far as scheduling goes, the pay isn't half bad, and like i mentioned earlier, it's near school. i am currently employed by the college newspaper, but with it being the end of the semester, that job is on hold until next fall. soo, in the meantime...i really need a job. the one at this restaurant seems like it would be a really great one, and it's one that i know i could do well.HOWEVER, i'm kind of concerned about what this guy would think if i showed up knowing that he works there. a friend of mine and i popped in to eat there the other day, and when he saw me, he smiled really, really big and then kept smiling every time we caught each other's eye. but there's kind of a big jump between having lunch and actually starting to work there. if i was to apply for the job and actually get the job, do you think he would find that stalkerish in any way? I'd go for it and just be casual about it with him. You need a job, they are hiring...it sounds like a good job.
