can anyone tell me of any genuine work from home jobs i could do ?.For personal reasons,i dont want to go out to work, and would feel much better working from home as you can do the work at your leisure in the comfort of your own home.I also want to pursue acting,by either joining an amateur dramatics group,or seeing if i can get into an acting school,or apply to casting agencies,e.t.c,so working from home would be a good idea to fit around my other ambitions,hobbies,e.t.c.I have a G.N.V.Q. college qualification in Performing Arts,do you think this is enough to get into an acting school ?I'm not sure if it's enough to start applying to agencies or not.I have also been a member of other Drama groups in the past aswell.

I have heard of data entry clerk jobs you can do at home, but is there anything else ?.If you could provide the links to some websites aswell, that would be great.

Ok,to emilysanswers,.for your information,i have always loved acting,as it makes me feel more confident. When i was younger,i had a lot of problems with being bullied at school, and since then,it has made me too nervous to go out to work.During my time at school, however,i loved to act in school plays, and also in drama groups outside of school.I can also handle being told to f-off,as you put it,as i have dealt with customers before. So,in other words,i want to work from home as i would feel more comfortable doing computer work, for example,in my own home rather than in a a public office, but i would enjoy acting as i have always loved it.so please dont patronise me !!.

To Tattyana, thank you for your advice.

Tattyana agony auntIf you dont want to do office work you may need to train in something that is of interest to you. I run a business from home doing holistic and massage treatments. It took a bit of dedication to do the training but is fairly cheap to set up and very fulfilling helping others and nice to have the contact with other people whilst doing your own hours at home.

Best of luck

Big Brother? You get to stay in a house and act....

You've picked a really bad time to start a working from home business. Companies do not have the time / money to farm out to British individuals when they can email it out to India and get it done at half the cost, twice as fast.

Try peopleperhour.com and see what you can do on there but competition is high. You might get something in sales, cold calling people, but if you don't want to leave the house then I don't know how good you'll be at being told to F-off 15 times an hour. It won't be at your leisure either, if you are actually going to make any money you will be doing long drawn out days. My friend is a virtual PA and works at her house from 8am through till 6 and just about makes enough to live on.

As for acting, get into am dram and do some research into local agencies that provide extras for production. If you live in an area where there is a lot of filming done, that is. Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Norfolk, Cardiff, and obviously London are the places to be.

It'll involve a lot of time out of the house and the days are long and hard.

As for drama colleges, they will ask you to perform but it's the £5k a year tuition fees that they charge that you'll need to find.

My best advice is to get a part time job in Aldi, it'll be far less work for far less money, and if you want to act, then you're going to have to get used to working very long very hard hours in freezing conditions anyway, so it will be good practice.

Good Luck!! xx
