Will the distance be too much?

Question - (13 March 2010) 4 Answers - (Newest, 13 March 2010)
A male Canada age 41-50, *ohn Smithy writes:

I'm 30 year old man she's 19 year old woman. I have 2 kids (girls) 8 and 6 years old. We started to be serious right away 3 months ago. She's going to university in 6 months. Now she lives only 1 1/2 hours away but then she will be 6 hours away! She told me that she finds the relationship different, big and a bit intimidating, but don't want to let go!

Is it gonna work?

Btw I'm not kidding if I say she's really beautiful, fun and smart. That's not just coming from me!

Laura1318 agony auntIt's a tough call. She is leaving for the U and it means that you are only an option to her.

It is a different world and it may change her outlook.

If you are fated to be together, your path will meet again.

Time and distance can be a dampener to relationships.

Long distance is not a problem for me. And she told me guys her age are not mature and don't know what they really want. I was the guy dating older woman before. I was married at 19 ( now divorce ) so I don't think age will be a problem. Love don't know distence.

Oh honey. Hmmmm. Well you never know I guess. Maybe it can work. But I have to say, she's 19. You were 19 once too. If she's away at college making a bunch of friends her own age with lots of guys around who are her own age? It may be tough to keep it going. and I have to ask - do you really want a girlfriend who is 6 hours away from you for the next 4 years?
