writes:Hello,I've been on the pill for about 5 or 6 months and this month i wanted to start my period a bit sooner than i'm supposed to. i have 2 normal pills left and the next week is the sugar pill week. i was wondering if i just skipped the 2 pills and started on the sugar pill week tomorrow if it would still work the same way?

reader, anonymous, writes (24 December 2010): take 2 packets in a row, its perfecty safe, my doctor recommended this to me as long as you dont take more than 3 so skip the sugar pills and open a new pack

If so you could skip the sugar pill week and start taking the next pack. This would make you skip your period all together until the next sugar pill week. This way you could avoid having your period at a certain event?
Normally the instructions that come with your pill tell you how to do this also :)
