Why is my boss telling me about personal information?

A female age , anonymous writes:

I have had a crush on my principal for a while. I am a manager at the college he manages. He is married so I am not pushing anything. I too am in a relationship.

I had a meeting with him recently and within our conversation he mentioned that he is not well and is in pain can not not use the college gym as he is a fittness fanatic.

I asked what was wrong with him - he mentioned that he has just had "the snip". I was so shocked I answered - that was brave of you. I was surprised he said that to me.

I like him as he is so warm and approachable. I do feel he is attracted to me by the way he looks at me.

Any comments?

Thanks Emily. I really like him and I know principals do not hang around long - I would like to think he sees me as a friend. Over christmas we both placed really warm words in each others cards.

LOL

Maybe he sees you as a friend, and wanted to talk to someone about his problems.

Pain is a funny thing and it has been shown that (especially in men) if you stop tensing against it and actually accept the pain and think about how it feels, then it goes away.

In other words, telling someone about it rather than sitting fearing it can REALLY help.

It sounds like he sees you as a friend more than a collegue and thought he could trust you enough to talk about an operation he's had. Besides, just because it's on an area he doesn't show, it doesn't make it something he has to hide from the world, it's just a meical procedure like any other.

Good Luck!! xx
