writes:Hi, I would really appreciate some insight on what is happening in my relationship. I've been dating one of my best friends for about 6 months now, and I'm very close to his mom and dad, as he is close to mine. He is also close to my -much- older sister (I say 'much' as to not cause questionable thoughts towards that relationship...she's nearly 10 years older), and close to my younger brother. However, my boyfriend also has 2 other siblings. He has an older brother, 17, 3 years older than us. He also has an older sister, MY sister's age. I never see his older sister, and so that relationship is not the problem I see right now. The real problem is his older brother. Okay, I'm sorry for the confusing details. Now, here is my story. His older brother, being 17, sometimes offers my boyfriend rides to my house/gives me rides to their house/picks him up from my house. (This is all him volunteering, so this is not the problem). I also occasionally see him while I am at my boyfriend's house, and I talk to him on the phone if I call their house, and he is the one that answers. You would think that there would be no problems, I have done nothing to him to make him upset with me, but for some reason...he hates me! The first time he picked up my boyfriend from my house, he informed my boyfriend (later, when they were in the car) that "She [I] won't last long". He thinks that I have made my boyfriend's language 'disgusting' even though I hardly ever curse, and my boyfriend has not cursed any more than he always has since we've dated. When my boyfriend's brother answers the phone, he is very cold to me, as opposed to my boyfriend's parents who always ask me how I am, and are very nice. I don't understand why my boyfriend's brother doesn't like me, because the rest of his family loves me! I honestly never did ANYTHING to this boy. (Also- as a side note, I know it may seem that maybe my boyfriend's brother thinks that my boyfriend is dating too young, but my boyfriend's brother has been dating a girl since he was my boyfriend's age.)  Sounds like HE has a crush on YOU. plus want's you to see him as an adult. Your maturity reaches his brother/parents. they think of him as little brother even though you are about the same age. I have experienced such.
