 Probably because you are not confident. Just relax more, learn to communicate through conversation.
Keeping a girl interested is the key, ask basic questions about her, tell her basic things about yourself (dont go on too much, you will bore her). Talk about anything not too deep (not polics, war or past girlfriends).
Treat her with respect, hold the doors open for her, let her go first, look her in the eyes and smile. Offer to buy her a drink or a meal if you really like her, but not fast food unless she really likes it.
If you can keep her interested on the first meeting / date your probably going to get a second date.
Listen intently to her, look at her eyes while she is talking, girls like guys who listen, dont just pretend to listen, really listen. She may ask your opinion but dont try to fix things unless she asks.
Dont keep looking at her body or brests, focus on the eyes and face with the occasional glance at her body.
Getting a balance between beeing a jerk and being mr nice is not easy. A good relationship will still let you have your own life and time to yourself but have good communicaiton and contact with a girlfriend.
Getting a good blance of seeing a girlfriend and phone calls is something you will learn to fine tune, when you first meet someone you will want to spend all your time with them, its natural but this will fade over time, once those feelings go if you still are in love with them youve got a good relationship.
