reader, anonymous, writes (2 September 2008): Did you have a total or a sub-total hysterectomy? If it was a sub-total then you still have your cervix. I don't know how removing just the uterus effects the placement of the cervix, but if you still have it then he could hit it and cause pain. The vagina also goes past the cervix. The total depth differs in woman and I don't know how deep the average vagina is. I suppose if he is much bigger than average then he could hit the end of the vagianl canal.
The angle of penetration is also important. If he is angling his penis toward your front then he could be putting pressure on your bladder. That will hurt a lot, as my wife can attest. I have to be careful with some positions because of that. That can also help cause a UTI.
If none of these then you need to ask your GYN.

It's probably a good question to ask your doctor. Maybe he hit some scar tissue and that caused the pain, maybe there's a hidden infection of the pelvis or bladder? I don't know, it's all speculation here, the only one who could really tell you is the doctor.
