Why am I so emotional?

Question - (31 December 2012) 2 Answers - (Newest, 31 December 2012)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I don't know what is going on with me recently! I keep finding i'm very emotional, i tear up over nothing or the littlest thing! I get angry at everyone so easily, it's actually becoming a problem because now i'm getting into arguments with my parents and friends. And sometimes i'll be sitting there doing nothing and then just having to leave the room suddenly because i feel i'm about to cry and nothing has happened?

Why are my hormones all over the place, i've noticed i haven't been happy. Just really upset, depressed and angry. Why do you think this is? I've had my period, i'm not on the pill, nothing is different. So why?! It's becoming an issue because everyone is asking why i'm so sad and angry all the time

R1 agony auntit does sound like it could be your hormones. you keep a diary of your mood for a month and see how it varies with your menstrual cycle.

Unless there is something worrying you, possibly from the past.

tennisstar88 agony auntWe're not medical professionals, so we cannot give you a concrete answer as to why you're overly emotional.

It could be numerous things:

-hormonal imbalance

-PMS

-anxiety, depression

I suggest you ring your GP, so they're able to run blood work to check your hormones.
