writes:Do you think i have social anxiety? im quite a nice person but hate being around people i dont really know in case they dont like me or i make a fool of myself. with my friends im so confident and bubbly, but with people i dont know very will i stutter and say silly things, then think they dont like me.im ok with people i dont know at all, its just people who i know but not well. for example, my boyfriends flat mates are all cool guys but when im with them i dont speak at all.i just dont know what to say. then i say something weird!!!i just hide away in his room when i go round. plus, i think its got worse. i used to love going out all the time, but now i hardly ever go clubbing, because i dont want to see his friends in case they dont like me!!! i know it sounds ridiculous but its true!!!

Yes you are showing and excess of low self esteem. You need to know youself and that it is OK to sometimes say something foolish. Look at people who interact well. They don't get down on themselves for ocassional goof ups. You need to learn to make small talk by asking others about themselves and telling a few stories of your own.
