Hi this guy im interested in didnt want to go for dinner/ lunch with me but instead invited me to a play. I find it quite strange, does he find it uncomfortable to sit and talk with me face to face? do you think he's just being polite or he likes me and i'm reading too much into the situation?

A female reader, aunty_rach United Kingdom +, writes (19 October 2008):

he is probably trying to be a little romantic. did you ever mention to him in the past that you like theatre? i think when a guy takes you on a date to the theatre it's really old school dating, bringing abit of romance back into the modern world of dating. don't read into it too much, just enjoy it. he obviously likes you otherwise he wouldn't be taking you anywhere!

I can't answer for him, and the only way to find out would be to ask him.

But knowing how a tiny fraction of a woman's brain works, (no man has ever figured out the whole thing) I wonder if, had he invited you out to dinner, you'd have been asking why he didn't invite you out to a play!
