When it comes to major events in my life, I think they should happen in a way I expect them to be! Why do I do this?

A male age 41-50, anonymous writes:

When it comes to rituals or etiquettes related to major events in my life, i think they should happen in a way i expect them to be, for me to completely accept it or find it any worth for me. Like love should happen in a specific way or should have a rigid definition and a set of criteria to be fulfilled as per my theory. Same thing about a relationship with a friend, co-worker, or an authority. It is intolerably difficult for me to accept and digest anything outside these set of rules. If they do happen, i just reject them or disregard them as useless. Please advice on how do resolve this inner conflict with my thoughts and reactions to outside events.
