Like SoVeryConfused said, could turn into thrush, but probably not. A yeast infection is just when normal bodily functions get out of control, it's not caused by external infections.
If you get little white spots in your mouth go get checked out by a doctor, but it's unlikely to be serious.

you can get thrush if it's yeast... babies get thrush all the time, my oldest had it...
but Abella is right we all carry yeast in our bodies at all times... just sometimes we get an overgrowth of it.
I suffered for years with topical yeast when I was obese...
yogurt as a food will help
if you get white patches in your mouth then gentian violet will help... and you can see a doctor.
YEAST infections ARE NOT STDs... they are uncomfortable and you feel crummy... but even virgins get yeast infections.

and if it is not treated promptly things can become very smelly indeed. And not in a good day.

It is always best if both parties are treated for the infection at the same time. sometimes one partner can have the infection without symptoms and keep on reinfecting their partner.
The treatment is quick and easy and painless.
People can even get an infection simply because they have had a dose of antibiotics.
Because the yeast is always there.
But your body usually can deal with it.
you body always has good and bad organisms inside you. And on you.
But if a person is run down or has had to take medication like antibiotics - then that can destroy the delicate balance inside the woman.
Go see the Doctor at the same time. And get the treatnment at the same time. You will both be right to take that step
