We had talked about splitting up only because we were going to our respective colleges and we thought it would be best. After a few months in college, I met some girls but they just didn't appeal to me the way my ex did. I missed her terribly and so I made the decision to have a long distance relationship with my ex and I became extremely happy. She came and visited a couple of times and I kept wanting to go visit her, and I would tell her that, but something would come up and it kept irritating her. Looking back now I wish I hadn't given her false hope, but eventually I went up there for a minor surgery she was having. She told me she was grateful I went there. Anyway, a couple of weeks pass during winter break pass and she comes to visit her old home. Her family moved due to her fathers job to another town about 600 miles away. Back to the story, she tells me she wants to go to the park to what I thought was gonna be a fun day. She sets me aside and tells me she likes one of my friends and that she wants to break up. I wasn't exactly sure why she wanted to break up but her main reason was that I don't deserve someone who lies to their boyfriend. A few weeks later she is going out with my friend. By the way, my friend goes to school in Peru and my ex goes to school in Canyon, Texas. I'm at a loss for words. I would have done anything for this girl and I still have really strong feelings for her. My question is what steps should I take from here?

It hurts and you must feel like your whole world just crashed around you, you have millions of questions floating about in your head right now, like he is in Peru and she’s in Texas so where did all this start, and for how long has it been going on… getting answers wont help you forget, you must now make new friends and keep busy, I really don’t know what to say, but be strong, and don’t think that you will never find love again coz if the love the 2 of you shared ended like this it was not love and you will find it, and you will find someone that will make you happy,
Good luck
