reader, anonymous, writes (30 August 2007): I'm pretty sure he's your second cousin, but think really hard before you get into anythign serious w/ him. In case you break up, you'll still have to see him at family reunions, maybe even holidays. Also, I'm not sure how it is in England, but in the US it may not be illegal to marry 2nd cousins, but there is definitely a stigma attached if you date or marry anyone you're remotely related to. It's not fair, but think about it really carefully before you get involved. People can be really cruel sometimes, and if it's just a passing love interest, is it really worth it? Then again, what if you get married and have kids? I recently found out my grandparents were 2nd cousins - thank god none of the kids in grade school found out about that!!
