A female Spain age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I met a man on facebook and suddenly started to like each other. He lives very far from here and we are realistic about the few possibilities of meeting. The only thing I want to ask is this: one day he told me something that I couldn´t understand well and it´s driving me crazy. Could anyone help me explaining me what is the meaning of what he said to me? (especially when he says "it would have been out of love and not just lust":

"trust me on this one..had there been a chance..that we could meet..I would have never let you go...

and yes....i would have had sex with you....each day each hour....but it would have been out of love...and not just lust..."

Well in my opinion it means he really likes you and wants to make love to you, not just have sex. Sometimes it's more real when you meet a person online because you get to know them better.. You will not know if the feelings are real til you guys meet.. When u talk to someone so much the feelings grow an it is very hard not to be with the person :( well hope it turns out good :)

People you meet in person may be "crap" from your first impression, but people you meet online you may find out are "crap" later on, maybe after wasting lots of money on plane tickets and having sex with them. The problem is the people, not how you meet them.

How do you know he's not giving the same BS to other women he's talking to online?

Trinklett agony auntI think to clear your doubts make a deliberate effort to meet. In any relationship after some form of communication there comes a time for the partners to meet. If he is as into you as he claims to be, then he should be willing to make that trip. If he's not, then its time to move on with your life.

That's fair enough then OP. If this is hurting you and if there really is no chance that you can be together in the future, then you may have to consider moving on and cutting off contact with this guy.

Not being able to have someone and staying in contact with them can be very long and painful, life and other men you can have just pass you by and you stay lonely. I mean you must feel very lonely right now having this guy in your life but not being able to touch him or hold him or build any kind of relationship with him. Sit down and have a serious think about what s best for you, both now and in the future. It may be hard to let this guy go, he may feed your need for attention from a guy but he may just be holding you back too.

Ok, thanks, maybe it´s not true, who knows... but we have talked a lot about that, and he is very realistic... I feel he has always talked with the truth. Sometimes he has been rough when telling what he really feels about our almost impossible relationship, the distance between us, and has always told me doesn´t want me to cry or suffer because of him. I don´t think he is a bad person or a lier at all.

"Thank you for your answer...So in English, I understand that "to be not only after sex" it means that he is not only interested in having sex with me, but also in me, as a woman."

Yes that is what he is saying. That does not mean it is true though, he could be just saying that. In fact that is exactly what a guy who only wants sex would say too. Hehe, it's just impossible to tell online.

To that anonymous reader who wrote: "Why not go out and meet a real person, in person who lives in your round about area? People can be anybody they want to be on a computer screen...why doesn't anyone get off their butts and do the real work to meet people in the real world anymore? I just don't get it....."

I have done it so many times, meet real people, and I swear they have been only crap. I don´t feel guilty of what I feel for someone online.

He's basically just saying that he really likes you and that he would sleep with you as often as possible but that he is not only after sex.

Oh brother....a great writer..... He was telling you that when you met, his intensions were to have sex with you, but to make it sound romantic and not cheap, he said it would have been out of love, not lust.....ya, you've never met, and it would have been love? Oh brother again.... he's probably married....

Why not go out and meet a real person, in person who lives in your round about area? People can be anybody they want to be on a computer screen...why doesn't anyone get off their butts and do the real work to meet people in the real world anymore? I just don't get it.....

N91 agony aunt

He's basically saying if you met up, he would want to stay with you and not let you go.

The second part that he would want to make love to you simply because he does love you and not because he thinks you are good looking or just because there is the chance of sex.
