I suspect my boyfriend might say he loves me soon - he's told our mutual friends he does and last night when we were holding each other in bed, he kept opening his mouth and closing it and looking at me. I care for him deeply but it's only been 4 months and I tend to fall quite slowly. So if it doesn't feel right to say 'I love you too', what's the next best thing? I wondered about saying something like 'I don't love you yet, but I think I will and I care a lot about you'. What do you think of that? I don't want him to feel at all shut down or embarrassed. I would suggest you smile super sweetly/seductively and give him a long lingering kiss. If you have to say anything then maybe tell him that what he said makes you so happy, or that you just love being with him ...and then kiss him. But if the conversation turns serious and he asks you directly, he has a right to your honesty.

Dont lie. Thats the best thing you can do, but dont be harsh about it either. If he turns to you and says 'I love you' kiss and hug him and then look him in they eye and tell him that you care for him more than anything, but you need more time. Reassure him (if you feel that you will love him) that you will fall for him porperly soon.
When my boyfriend first said it to me i didnt love him but i told him to keep saying it to me and one day it just hit me that i loved him back and i told him.
Just tell him the truth, that's all you can do.
Good luck :) x
