I worry about my stomach growling all the time in class because it's so quiet and it embarrassing to hear it. I worry and stress myself out about this each day. I am the one making my stomach growl because I get so nervous and I worry about it and it happens when I don't worry about it my stomach makes no gas noises. I don't like for people to hear it so I worry about it during quiet sessions and it starts. I try to tell my mind not to think about it and think of something else like sex for instance. But its like I loose my brain and just worry constantly about my stomach.

Just hearing the quiet room make me constantly think of it There's no need to see a doctor because I eat right and I know what the cause is. It's me. I can't even concentrate on my constantly thinking of my classmates hearing my gas stomach growl like I'm passing gas. I have an ACT coming up and I'm scared I want do my best because the room is going to he quiet and I'm going to worry about my stomach. It's gonna be a room full of people and I'm going to constantly think and worry about them hearing my stomach and it's gonna make so much noise because I'm gonna be constantly worried and thinking of it. No matter what I eat or drink it does it because I'm so worried about it. What can I do or tell myself

I know what you mean, I had the same problem when I was in school. Unfortunately, I haven't found any magical solution for how to make my stomach be quiet. You could try experimenting with your diet. If you eat less before school, then your stomach has less work to do, thus it makes less noise. However, if you eat too little, then it will growl because it is empty. But I found the sound of an empty stomach less embarrassing than the sound of food being digested, because that sometimes sounds like I'm passing gas. Also, if you sit with your arms crossed over your chest, you can subtly apply pressure on your stomach when it starts growling and that will somewhat muffle the noise.

Hey there =)

I have the same problem! My stomach makes very loud noises and I start feeling it coming on about an hour and a half into my college day.

I've found a way to stop it though: Either

1. lean against the table (quite firmly) pushing in your stomach below the ribs. It will stop if you push hard.

2. When you feel it coming on take DEEP breaths as if you're about to run - if you don't want people to hear you breathing either I suggest breathing in AND out through the mouth, instead of the nose.

Do either of these things correctly will stop the grumbling. But you obviously have to do it every time it happens.

These are the only two ways which I KNOW work, but you have to do it right. If you can't seem to get these ways working, try it slightly differently - for example if you decide to push against the stomach try lower done or higher up, or even more on the left side than the right.

Anyway hope this helps =)

Have you sought medical advice on this pal? I would certainly do that first for peace of mind. Something could be medically wrong here. Hope things are alright man.
