A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I like this guy. I'm pretty sure he likes me back too but he has not told me outright I haven't asked but plan on it next time we chat. He seems really shy but always talks to me, texts me early am, texts me late his time. He asks when I will move to where he lives. He seems genuinely interested. He send me hugs for the first time ever during our friendship two days ago. We have been just friends for nine years. He never did this stuff before two months ago. Does this mean he likes me?

A female reader, NORA B Ireland +, writes (11 August 2014):

Hi i can understand how you feel if you have stronger feelings for him its not easy.As you have been friends for 9 years i would say he certainly LIKES YOU.But i would thread with care hoping for something more.He may be shy but 9 years to remain friends is a long time. However i would wait and let him make the First move otherwise you might loose a nice friend.Just give it time .Best luck NORA B.
