My daughter had a chinese word tattoo. It was suposed to say peace, but now it just looks like a barbeque.

My recommendation would be to get temporary tattoos. You're about to make one of THE classic tattoo mistakes: getting matching tattoos with your childhood sweetheart.
Otherwise, make sure it's small and get it somewhere where your next boyfriend isn't going to notice it.

But the one about the egyptian writing, sounds VERY good! Thanks :) Waterloo, I definitely won't be getting his name. Haha. I've told him that before.

One more point on Chinese characters... be very sure that you know exactly what they say. There are some funny stories out there about people who thought they had a tattoo that meant one word, like 'warrior' and in fact they had 'wimp' tattooed in a very prominent place.

When i was your age i thought i was with my life partner forever, er no, thank god! I am so glad that i didnt get a tattoo then. Many years later ( have 3 kids, 2 grandkids), i am even more glad that i didnt go and have a tattoo, which is something that my bloke then wanted to do. A word of advice from this wise old owl. Get a tattoo if you want, but nothing to connect him to you. Something beautiful, tasteful and unique to you alone, just in case the two of you go your separate ways, and it does happen, and you dont want to be associated with him ever again. If you get something that is matching then you will have that as part of your body forever. Please think very carefully, i do know just what i am talking about.
My husbands ex has his name tattooed (branded) across her back, just imagine how her new husband feels every time he sees it, haha.
take care
xx
