writes:Hi there, im 21 yrs old and i ment a guy online same age as me, we got on instantly really well. we have been talking for over 6 months we havent met yet due to distant and complications. we have strong feelings towards each other, we have txted , msn , phoned and web cams. the reason we havent met before is hes afraid that we wont get on, or we wont work in a relationship and hes afriad that im going to break his heart or hes going to get hurt, i feel sometimes he doesnt realise i feel the same but im still willing to try, how can i help him get more confidence that it will be ok and i have no intentions on hurting him, yes we havent met but he makes me really happy as i do with him and were constantly thinking of each other. we need to meet and at the moment he seems happy about it but i have a feeling that hes worried about it and i dont want us to not try because hes afraid that it could go wrong when it could go right.. any help and advice would be great thanks xxxx

My advise will be to take things abit slowly, get to know him better and allow him to know u in person. This is the only way trust can be built especially for someone like him who is obviously afraid of relationships and getting along.
I know that u have been chatting now for six months and u feel the intimacy and closeness is already there but alot of people are still cautious until the meeting takes place, even after.You cannot really tell if u can get along until u actually meet and get to spend time together in person.Also, you have to realise that they are alot of strange people on the net and u cannot really tell who is really sincere.
I would advise u to go ahead and meet.arrange for a vacation and go see him or he can come over which is best.see how it goes. Try and take things at a gentle pace and enjoy getting to know each other more in person.
