writes: dear cupid, soo, there's this guy...who, for security purposes, we'll just call allen. just some background information about me and him: we're both first-year college students and only about six months apart in age (i'm the oldest). anyways...we met about a month ago through mutual friends...who seem to think that we would be absolutely ADORABLE together. after an outing with them last weekend, we wound up with each other's numbers. he texted me the morning after that, and we talked for a little while. then, the following day, i texted him, and we talked a little bit more.the problem? we really didn't talk about much of anything. see, this guy is, like, really shy...and i kind of am, too. we've admitted to our friends that we definitely find the other attractive and could picture dating at some point in the future...but obviously, we are SOO far away from that at this point.my question is, how do i act when i talk to him? and what are some things that i could talk to him about that would start up really good conversation? like i said, i think he's really cute, and he definitely seems like the kind of guy that i would date. but i don't really know how to talk to him. my biggest fear is that i'm going to scare him off or something like that. soo, yeahh...what's the best way to approach him?

Break something, ask him to fix it. I've done this, it works.
It's a great ice breaker as well.
