We are both Muslim, but worlds apart! Can it work for us?

my problem is that i am involved with a guy who is 9 years senior to me and does not belong to our community also which is a big problem for me as this will cause a huge rift between me and my family.he says he is madly in love with me and is willing to marry me. he has been very fair to me about his past relationship and his life.i am a shia muslim and he is a sunni muslim and i know my family will never accept him but i m also feeling attracted towards him.what should i do?

From what i hear on tv and stuff, the rift between shia and sunni goes alot deeper than your faimly.... But this is kinda like Romeo and juliet... If it is true love it will find a way!!!

But ask yourself the question is this man worth your faimly. If he is i think you should go for it, even if they hate it and dis-own you. You would be an exsample to muslins all over the world not just to your faimly, showing that even with your diffrences in religon your people can be one. I think true love will always come out on top and i belive you should give it a try if you realy belive it'll work!
