We live 2 hours and a bit away from each other however I have moved back to uni so we're only about a hour and a half away now. He is not materialistic and doesn't ask for much (he hardly asks for anything come to think of it) but I really want to do something special for him just to show him how much I love him and appreciate him despite us hardly seeing each other and being so busy this summer. He works ridiculously hard day and night and hardly gets time off work but luckily work have given him two weeks of toward the end of this month. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do for him? (as a student i'm pretty broke lol plus he won't allow me to spend a lot of money on him even though I want to lol) Thanks in advance xx

As its autumn now, you can't really do much outdoor stuff unless we have good warm weather. Id suggest an indoor evening picnic. Make some of his favourite foods, light candles, open a bottle of wine and lay out a blanket. Talk, there is nothing more romantic that good convo and ALOT of flirting. Make the setting romantic as possible. Burn incense, sprinkle rose petals around. Whatever takes your fancy. Not only is it going to be a cheap date coasting you a tenner at most but its unusual and likely to impress him.

Why not book you both in to a spa, it will be relaxing and he can unwind after all his hard work.

How about a homemade birthday cake and card? Nearly everyone I know buys the darn things which is just sooooo commercialised and well...boring!

If it's not a special occasion, I think you should plan a date he'd like. Either something romantic or a day trip, etc.
