Sit back and enjoy. Albert Einstein married his first cousin and Charles Darwin did the same, having ten children with her. But I would check with a professional before having any more children.

Your great grand parents are cousins? So you’re essentially related by rumor. You’re something like 32nd cousins. Get on with your lives together.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (3 January 2018): That much distance in your gene pool is not incestuous. Most people living in the same geographical-location could be related ancestrally and not even know it.
You can always have tests run to determine any genetic abnormalities; but that could happen under any circumstance, whether parents have common ancestral DNA or none at all.
If nothing runs commonly in your family or hers, it is unlikely to be passed on.

That would make you what 5th or 6th (I think) cousins at best which means there is PLENTY of genetic material in between for it not to be incestuous AT ALL.
Now if you are both carriers of "negative" recessive and dominant genetically, consider genetic counseling before having any more kids.

Get married, for your child's sake - legal coverage and such. Other than that, there's nothing to worry about because the relation is too far back :)

You don't need to do anything, the relationship is so far back that there will be only minimal, if any, shared DNA between you both and your respective great, great grandparents.
If you are concerned for your child's health, and are aware of any nasty diseases in both or either family's past then see your doctor to allay your fears.
Congratulations on the baby BTW :-)
