writes: I am 64. I have a problem getting a firm erection. When I take herbal remedies, I get hard enough for oral sex. If I take viagra, I get hard enough for penetration, but I can't cum. My wife feels I just want oral sex, but I'd like some variety.

Fancy yourself as an agony aunt? Add your answer to this question! A reader, Heather, writes (5 February 2005): This is a very common occurence in men all over the world. What you have described is erectile dysfunction. Which, is quite different from full on impotance. Often ED is only temporarily and can be easily solved. First off you need to see you doctor to determine whether your ED is caused by physical problems or current medications taken. One clue is that if you still get erections in your sleep, the cause of your ED is more likely to be pyschological rather than physical. If your problem is pyshcological, I suggest seeing a therapist and working out why you are having ED. There are a variety of possible answers, such as stress, depression, anxiety, fatigue or relationship problems.
