Every session I attend and he's on shift, we have so much eye contact! He smiles, i smile. It's definitely flirting, and i've been gearing myself up to go and talk to him. Anyway I wore a necklace that I couldnt take off myself and asked him to do it, which he did but I was such a sorry excuse for myself riddled with nerves that I sad thank you and literally turned on my heels. Mortified about that. And totally kicking myself that I missed out on a great opportunity to talk to him. Now I feel like it's going nowhere and I really want something to happen - but what do I do? If he really liked me he'd just come up and ask for my number right?

Hi
I guess he is used to seeing girls all day with his job, maybe he isn't allowed to approach female swimmers, he is at work after all.
SO, the ball is in your court, you could pretend to be in difficulty in the water, or ask what time lane-swims are or simply go up and give him your number (written down) after you've dressed and say 'call me'.
Nothing ventured n all that.
