writes: i have a very bad temper. nearly every single day i have an argument with my friends over things like football. we're all football crazy, so i hate bein criticized, so if i hear any of them complaining i just snap and shout back and shut them up.it's come to a point where i'm always walkin home with at least one person not talkin to me coz of an arguement! they never admit thier fault but i think time has come for me to change myself.they are even talkin behind my back which i hate.can anyone please give me any advice to control my anger and not argue. i'm serious i argue EVERYDAY! reader, anonymous, writes (13 June 2007): hiya i am exactly the same and everyone tells me i need anger managment but i dont want to i am only 19 i would feel stupid sayin i need anger managment, i think i stress so much because of previous things that have happened in my life so if you can relate your stress and anger with previous problems then maybe that can help you if it does well done lol

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2007): fist of all, congratulations on being a big enough guy to recognise that you have a problem - loads of guys don't until it's too late!Like the lady says, you need some anger management therapy; but in the meantime, the old tricks are the best - literally, try counting to 10 when someone says something that annoys you before you respond. Remind yourself in those 10 seconds that everyone is entitled to their point of view. You'll be amazed how much of your anger just drains away.Another trick is to try to imagine the person who is annoying you doing something daft - like wearing a toga, or standing on one leg with a flower up their nose! Instead og getting angry, you'll get the giggles, which is much more fun!Good luck,

I would suggest a visit to your gp explain the problem to them and see if they can get you referred to anger management, i also think you are great coming out and admitting that you have a problem and wanting to get it sorted.
