reader, anonymous, writes (1 June 2009): The few women who I have been with in my life have liked the affection and cuddling more than just the sex. As far as slow or fast, it depends on mood. My wife is the only woman who I have been with for the past 28 years and our sex varies. Sometimes we just cuddle and fondle and sometimes we just screw. However, most of the time we do everything, starting with kissing and cuddling and holding each other and ending the same way. The sex, oral and intercourse, is in the middle of the lovemaking. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes and sometimes it takes an hour. It was the same with another woman who I dated years ago.
As has already been suggested, ask her. All women are different, as are all men. She might like one thing tonight and another thing the next night. She might like a certain type of sex at night and something different in the morning. Variety makes it interesting. Just remember the affection part. The other thing to remember is that she would like to orgasm too. Most women take longer than guys do, so make sure you take care of her before you go off. That might take oral sex, as many women can only orgasm with oral, or that might be their best orgasms. Both women who I mentioned are/were like that. Whatever it takes to give her at least one good orgasm too.

 You are right, there are so many forms of sex. Really the vigorous fast-paced is often associated with casual sex. The slow and passionate is often associated with loving relationships. Although you can have fast-paced sex in a loving relationship, the difference being is that this involves the intimate cuddles afterwards.
A lot of this is preference, or what you might feel like at the time, even if not all the time.

I think you miss a point women come in all shapes and sizes, as does timing and environments, so there is no rule..... sometimes quick, sometimes slow, sometimes hard etc. its the moment that counts :) and experimenting....
as a guide lasting as long as possible whilst being passionate works well....
