 If he wants his space give it to him. Don't make it dramatic and ask if he's breaking up with you. Tell him that you're going to leave his place and not contact or see him until he figures out what he wants. Then let him decide what his problem is.
he's confused for a reason so let him work it out. But also, don't wait forever. Have a time frame in your mind, no need to tell him, and if by then he hasn't sorted himself out, time to re-evaluate things and ask yourself if YOU want to be with a man who doesn't know if he wants you.
