Should I move on because knowing that she is happy, I should be happy for her?

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This girl I dated back in high school (two years ago) is happy with another guy. I broke up with her because I "knew" I wouldnt amount to anything, and though I'd always be a nobody... To this day (two years and four months later) not a day goes by where I dont miss her. Should I give up? Should I move on because knowing that she is happy, I should be happy for her? I have went on a few dates since then, but have always compared them to her. None of them have came close to how amazingly perfect she was. She accepted me for who I am, I was able to be myself. I just cant let go of her, I love her...

A female reader, Resha United States +, writes (11 April 2011):

Letting her go was a mistake when at the first place she accepted you for who u are and what u are. Try to talk to her again tell her everything and see if she can accept you back never let her go again. But if she already had moved on from you and shes happy with other guy maybe u just have to let her go.
