Should I meet my online guy when he comes to my country on holiday? Will this ever work between us?

Simply i fell in love with a german man over the internet i am irish .last summer he asked me to marry him over the internet Bizaare yes! i told him i wasnt sure and in the end i blocked him because i didnt want to hurt his feelings over the last couple of months weve been talking again he speaks of nature animals and what he enjoys .he never spoke of sex and he accepts my son he has a son of his own but dosent see him over a previous relationship he is coming to ireland in may on a holiday should i meet him? he is buddist and im catholic does that make a huge difference in religons? and also speaks more german than english all i need is the advice of what i should do Thanks !
