Should I go for it with my older, world traveler?

Hey everybody

Don't know if you'll be able to give me advice on this one... but here goes :)

Basically, I went on a cruise over Christmas, and on one of the formal dress up nights, some officers were invited down to dance. Because I'm a keen dancer, I was introduced to one of them. And we really hit it off! He didn't always used to be at sea, and what he did before was something I'm really interested in. And we had great chemistry and kept seeing each other for the rest of the trip. Unfortunately, I had to come home, but we've been emailing every day since.

Obviously, the first problem is... he'll be somewhere else in the world for 6 months every year. He's not back here next for 8 weeks!

And secondly... I'm 20 and he's 36. He looks young for his age, maybe 27/28, but I never considered going out with someone so much older than me. Will we have differences that are too great?

We've not known each other very long, but I can really feel myself falling for him, and with these two factors against us... what should I do?

All advice appreciated!

I think you are falling from him because you met him while on holiday and you had a lot of fun....No harm in emailing him, but I would not pin your hopes on dating him and starting some sort of relationship....he is not even going to be around much at all. Sounds like a total fling to me...flings are fun and thats where it ends.

Depends on what you are looking for, but if you want to fall in love with someone that takes getting to know someone really well for it to be anything other than infatuation and that means he needs to be in close proximity to you.

I am glad you had a fun time on your cruise, how could you not?
