Does this mean I should go back because I can't sleep or function well day to day without him

If you can't sleep, or function well day to day without him, then i think in your heart of hearts you already know what you should do.
Good luck

Why did you move in the first place?
If it’s possible to move closer then yes it would be a wise decision. LDR rarely work as they’re very stressful and draining. The closer, more physical relationship you’re able to have the better.
