A female , anonymous writes:

How much discharge should a woman have? I use my liner all the time. I just wonder if it's normal to be wet all the time. If I don't wear my liner (ex. wear a thong), it gets my underwear all wet. It's getting very annoying and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it, or how to deal with it.

A female reader, b3x United Kingdom +, writes (19 September 2006):

b3x agony auntAll women have some vaginal discharge. It happens to all of us honey!

Normal discharge tends to look clear, cloudy white, and/or yellowish when it dries on you knickers! It may also at times be thin and stringy.

Any changes in colour or amount of discharge may be a sign of a vaginal infection. Vaginal infections are very common, most of us ladies out there will experience some form of a vaginal infection in their lifetime! You mention nothing about the change of colour or a smell to it so I don't think you have an infection of some sort.

If you do get a change in the discharge where it may be accompanied by maybe itching, rash or soreness then I would go to your doc's to have it sorted out.

I do have a very similar problem to yourself, and occasionaly I also have to wear a thin panty liner, I guess after a while I have just got used to it, also I noticed that I tend to have more of it when I am due on my period, but these are all well and good signs!

Discharge from the vagina is a way in which our body is clearing out all the bad stuff from inside us, so its a fact of life that we tend to have it! I guess we just have to learn to deal with it.

If you do feel though this amount of discharge is worrying to yourself, I would nip along to the doc's and explain your situation, they may be able to recommened something and make aure that everything is normal!

But other than that honey, join the club (unfortunate I know!) xx
