Should I approach my manager?

A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Hello:

I was removed out of a dept. that I was hired into do because of this manager I worked with for two years. Things went bad due to workplace drama and gossip, and lack of communication to clarify things between us.

Now this season I find myself out of the department, which must be his doing. There is a legitimate need for my being back in the department. HR told not to converse with this individual, gossip flew, i heard so many bad things he had to say about me, but I'm wondering if I should simply at this point peaceably go talk to him?

, At least to try to get back into the department I care about? We used to be 'close', it's been months now since we actually talked. I don't care about the gossip mill, I want the job I was hired in to do.I have tried other avenues, but i think the desicion actually lies with him. Should I approach him about going back into the department, and simply ask, what happened with us?? Why do you hate me so much?

I have always worked hard for him, even still in spite of everything, he knows I would, so I should probably finally try to talk to him alone, when he is in a better mood, he is very jeckly and hide.

We used to be friends...it's a tragedy. I just want my position back.

If the decision still stands , accept the reality and move on.
