writes: I found out my girlfriend of 2 years cheated on me about 8 months ago. She told me after a lot of questioning, though she has been lying about it until now. It happened while she was drunk and with a guy she had long had a crush on, and she said she only was having sex for a minute and then stopped him and left. I love her, I believe she loves me. However, she has make out with other guys randomly while drunk in the past while we were dating. I don't know what to do. Do we work it out? She says it will never happen again and she wishes it never happened. I love her so much, the pain is unbearable.

reader, anonymous, writes (28 December 2006): Ask yourself this at the very least - is there a reason why she can't control her drinking habits? Has the concept of "drinking responsibly" never occurred to her? Do these two questions answer your own thoughts on what 'options' you may have in dealing with this?
