A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hello all,

I have a problem which has been getting me so, so down. I started sleeping with my boyfriend about a year ago and it's been agonisingly painful every single time. It's got to the point now where I'm brought to tears and really can't do it. I'm actually frightened of sex now. Before anyone suggests foreplay and lube and all of that stuff, I've tried it all. I'm so, so in love with my boyfriend but I'm terrified of losing him because of this. I've been to the doctor, all he suggested was to buy lube, which didn't help me at all (we used a whole tube once!). I'm so scared there's something wrong with me. All I want to be able to do is make my boyfriend happy!

Could someone please suggest something to me. I'd love to hear if anyone has any advice for me!

Thankyou

It sounds like vaginmus due to some event that occurred in your life that prevents you from opening up sexually...but dont worry...I just think that if you were to try foreplay so you're really turned on then that may help to release some tension...but if not then definitely go to a different doctor!!! xxxx

Yeah your doctor sounds a bit useless to me.

Go to another one and ask if it could be vaginismus.

The more you keep trying the more scared you'll be and the worse it will get. Stick to foreplay for now so you can relearn to relax a bit and get turned on rather than start fearing the pain.

Good Luck!! xx

ClaireAndJamieXX agony auntGo to your doctor again and tell them that what they suggested isnt working. It sounds like the problem is that your muscles tense whenever your going to have sex making you too tight for entry. Your doctor should be able to give you plastic domes in all different sizes that you enter with lube to help loosen up your muscles making sex alot easier. Ask about these next time you go to the doctors. Although the problem could also be in your mind and you may need to get some help for that too as the increased negativity about sex hurting wont be helping you relax and make it even more painful each time. Good luck xx

lexilou agony auntIf the pain is in your tummy area sort of above your vagina then go to back to your docs it might be endomertitis. If it is in your vagina then still go to the docs as there maybe some problem. Dont take no for an answer and ask for a second opinion x
