World Wrestling Entertainment star Chris Benoit asphyxiated his wife Nancy and their 7-year-old son Daniel before hanging himself, Fayette County Sheriff's Department's Lt. Tommy Pope said at a press conference outside the Benoit home on Tuesday.
Nancy, whose feet were bound, was likely killed Friday night in an office in the home where she was discovered, said Scott Ballard, Fayette's District Attorney. Her death was followed by the boy's murder on Saturday in the child's upstairs bedroom. Daniel Benoit was found in his bed, said police. A bible was near both bodies.
"Then, maybe sometime later," on Saturday or Sunday, said Pope, "Chris Benoit killed himself by hanging himself in the basement area."

What happened is terrible. Just like the articles have been saying, the case seems really bizarre. I wonder what lead him to kill his family and then hang himself. A toxicology report is due in three weeks, so I guess we'll see if he was cracked out on anything. :\

DV1 is verified as being by the original poster of the question I feel like the police are not even considering a fact that anyone they knew could have been there doing everything. There would have been no signs of forced entry. Instead, they would rather shut the case quickly due to his celebrity... If he is guilty, I am just in awe...

According to the AP, the police think that it was a murder-suicide. Here's an excerpt from an article the AP has released:
"Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH,) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from Whitewater Country Club."

The results from the autopsies are supposed to be completed today, so I guess we'll see what happened for sure when the results are released.
