I know smiling is supposed to help, but I can't freaking smile all the freaking time, and I am HORRIBLE at fake smiling.I am not fat,or ugly. I heard many times, that I look pretty. I'm not the elephant man. Why do they treat me like crap? I don't understand what I do to elicit such a response in people. They look at me like I'm from another planet, and then they don't understand what I'm saying. I speak English. Good grief. I, m white, so its not discrimination. (What i hate, when people do....)Am I the only one that feels like an alien?Sometimes I feel like I must look weird , and then ,I wonder what should I change,on me..I dont imagine that, it is real .But I don't know how to deal with it. They look at me from face to shoe, and I even going to check myself,if I had something on my shirt.... I really suffer from this. Is there any good ideas? Thanks Reply to this Question Share |

This is insecurity talking and maybe a little bit of social anxiety. Look up "social anxiety" and you'll see what i mean.

I always think people are looking at me, staring at me and talking about me. When a group of girls walks by me in the street and they are laughing, I always think they are laughing at me. But I am pretty sure it is not all just in my head. I have had many people tell me they remember seeing me around when I first meet them, so I guess I just have an unusual face people tend to notice.

If your appearance is clean and you don't wear 'odd' clothes and your clothes and shoes are clean and tidy then i think that the problem could be from inside of yourself. Have you heard of 'paranoia'. Have you been through any illness lately where you have been depressed or had any stress?. Try not to look too deeply at others when you are out and about, ignore people you don't know and dont think about it. I look at people all the time, to see what their wearing, or who their kids are, it's human nature really. If someone looks too long at me i usually find if i look right back at them, their eyes hit the floor. So sometimes it can be just down to human nature.
