Question - (30 August 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 30 August 2008)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am 16 and my boyfriend is 16 too, he is my first boyfriend and i am his first girlfriend too. we've been together for 1-2 months but ive known him for years (but we werent really friends for that time). i asked him out in germany and he seemed really excited about it but was still kind of awkward and weird (kind of ignored me?)when we were in group situations. i just ignored it though because i really liked him and thought it would change once we were together.

so over the summer we hung out a lot and made out and i even snuck over to his house when his parents were gone and slept over (it was a close call with his sister in the morning lol). but alas, the awkwardness hasnt gone away. and in school he still is weird, and it makes me really really sad. and i overthink everything and get nervous about everything and this is just so hard for me to live with. its hard for us to hang out because of sports and ---and at the fair he was acting weird and when we were alone i tried to talk to him about it and he said "i just dont want to change my plans..." and i was like uhh ok, thinking id change my plans in a second to hang out with you.

but i called him today and he seems totally fine over the phone. but when i asked him what he was doing today he said he was "too lazy" and i was like "too lazy?" and he was like yeah i just have a bunch of little shit to do... and i was like yeah...

i just dont know if he doesnt know what to do? if hes embarassed in front of his friends at school? or what?

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (30 August 2008):

It sounds like you are just not a high priority in his life, and I think you should start trying to get over him.

Toughen up and don't take crap like this. Tell him that you want a boyfriend who WANTS to spend time with you and doesn't act like they are ashamed of you when their mates are around. If he doesn't change then dump him.

You deserve better than this.

Good Luck!! xx
